At about 2 PM today Dad and I went to the local skate rink to join Mom and Danny. They were there before us because it was part of some WAVA activity that started at 1 PM, which conflicted with my college schedule (my last class ends at that time).
Anyways, we got there, signed in, and put on our skates. The roller skates were cool, and I found it much easier to keep my balance on them than the ice skates, but I still had trouble moving myself forward. Even though the motions required were practically the exact same, actually getting results from the skates felt entirely different in practice. I took me a fair amount of time, but I eventually completed a loop around the rink.
And then Mom broke her wrist.
After the fire department came and everything was sorted out, Mom and Dad found a ride home for Danny and me. That was a fun half-hour of my life.
Anyways, here are some words for you if the implications of this incident aren't immediately obvious to you: laundry, dishes, food, dinner, driving, typing, etc.
Possible coping mechanism: Nonsensical foreign disco music
Alternatively: This walking simulator.
